Description
I don't follow the Avs super closely so lines/signing values could be off...feel free to correct!

I suspect Johnson will waive his NMC so the Avs can protect Makar, Girard and Toews leaving Graves exposed. He gets taken by Seattle.

This team looks SOLID for years to come.

At this point I think it's wiser to let Saad go and improve goaltending, at least signing Grubauer

Goaltending is questionable and that Landeskog contract seems low, even after a pay cut to "keep the team together". I'm be surprised if he signs for less than $7.5m aav

Both fair points! I agree Saad might be a luxury next season, improving goaltending probably makes the most sense. I did go with the lower end of what I think Landeskog will get. I know he said he would take a team friendly deal but that will still most likely be in the 7's like you mentioned.

This goaltending conversation is getting so old. Are Francouz and Grubauer all stars? No. Are they good goalies? Absolutely. They both posted above 0.910 save percentages last year, and Francouz was above Lehner with a 0.923. If either of them had been healthy for the playoffs this year, the Avs would've been in the WCF.

They were literally tied for second in the entire league in Goals Allowed lets year, so can we please stop with this whole "they need better goaltending to be competitive" narrative?

My point is that Grubauer & Francouz is good. Francouz and Dell is quite a regression

No one even mentioned that the Grubauer - Francouz is a bad tandem here, or even mentioned them at all...

If you look at the post, Grubauer is nowhere to be found because OP chose not to resign him -- the goaltending tandem is Francouz - Dell. That is the tandem that @SevenLeg and I commented on.

So read comments and posts more carefully before going off on people.

And if you don't want to even consider improving your goaltending position (health concerns with Grubauer -- limiting him to a 37 game season, career high and a 30 year old rookie goaltender) then that's just being close-minded. If you have the cap space and ability to improve your team, then there is no harm in looking around at ways to do that.

@SevenLeg Apologies, I've just gotten used to assuming people are trying to trade Carey Price or Freddy Andersen to the Avs because they need an upgrade. Had me triggered.

As for improving on the position, I couldn't agree more. I don't trust Grubby's health one bit, but it's only one season where he's had injury issues. If they come up again this season, then you definitely have to begin looking at an upgrade.

Care to elaborate? I thought this line up was decently accurate. I always build the AHL team as well as NHL so that is why you see numerous AHL/Depth player signings FYI. Goaltending was my clear mistake as well as perhaps the Saad contract.

Avs have a super deep prospect pool, every one of those delry signings are not needed

Werner in net, kaut Bowers kovalenko for forwards, them adding Gilbert from the saad trade wasn’t an accident since he’s only 23, they will try to bring Zhuravlyov over from Russia.

They might do 1 ufa depth signing but not 4. And those players you signed don’t make any sense as they don’t fit the teams identity, they focus on players who are good skaters, high hockey iq and have focus on analytic under lining numbers like zone exits and shot suppression...none of those guys come close to that type
