Panthers don't need Toews, he will be good year 1 but would block out the 2c spot for Lundell

Most Sabre fans say no. I think with the 3.5 retention, I would accept.

The Sens want Brannstrom to come into the league as a LD, and after he's established, maybe move to the right side. I think he's going to hold the second pair LD until Sanderson takes it from him, and then move to the right side at that point. No need for Keith in Ottawa. I'm sure there's several teams that would love to have him, teams competing now.

I think Keith could bring some very good experience to the b-line especially helping to develop Brannstrom. Chicago for the past 2 year played rookies with Keith (Joki, Boqvist) and they've been looking good, and those two player also talked about how Keith's been good for helping them develop.

Especially taking back Kyle Okposo and giving you guys a 23 year old center that can put up 40-50 points

Do you expect Lundell to come in after only 1 season you drafted him, I probably see him playing in the Liiga then to the AHL for a year- NHL and if that is the case Toews would be on his final year. The Panthers could play Lundell as 3rd line center to start the year and then trade Toews at the deadline or Keep him for a playoff run or even re-sign Toews to make him your 3rd line center.

If he keeps playing the way he has this Liiga season, I don't think he's ever gonna be in the AHL. I think he will be able to jump into the 2c position in 2021-22, if not after the Liiga season ends in 20-21.

It's going to cost a 1st and Johnson for someone to take on Okposo contract, It's basically Cozens, UPL, and a 2nd for Kane (3.5 retained) Strome (Value is a 1st) I think that is very fair and going to help your team a lot

Both Pierre Dorion and DJ Smith have stated they want Brannstrom on the left side.

I didn’t realize Keith was such a PK mainstay. I can see a use for Keith in Ottawa. I’ve recently noticed that the Sens lost several of their PK players, namely Hainsey, Borowiecki, and DeMelo, and Keith could help with that need. Keith could spend two seasons as the second pair LD, and then the third season transitioning Sanderson to the second pair LD. It would allow Brannstrom to play in Belleville this season, and move into the 3rd par LD next season. Then over to the right side after that.

Keith could be exactly what Ottawa needs now. Even the contract is favourable to Ottawa.

We aren't interested in either maneuvers. Okposo is overpaid but our 2nd best defensive forward. We'll pass.

Cozens is too important right now. No interest in strome, no interest in paying multiple firsts to move okposo.

@Beetlejuice
Here is the deal.
You are correct
Okposo, Kyle + Johnson, Ryan + 2021 1st round pick (BUF) = nothing, so take them out.
Cozens, Dylan + Luukkonen, Ukko-Pekka + 2022 2nd round pick (BUF) is very fair for Kane, Patrick ($3,500,000 retained)
Sort of getting Strome, Dylan + Subban, Malcolm + Krys, Chad for nothing IMO
I think the general consensus among Buffalo Sabre fans (and most scouts) is Cozens and Luukkonen are going to be very good.
Cozens will be a 65 - 70 top six player in a year or two and Luukkonen will the the starting GK in two years.
Buffalo is more than adding Kane away from being a cup finalist.
So you are correct the offer is a very fair, and maybe beyond fair, but 3 years of Kane does not equal 10 years of Cozens and Luukkonen.
So I and my two friends below politely pass.

Okposo makes anything much more complicated. We obviously would need to move salary to acquire 10 million in players. Having to pay to move out a terrible contract at the same time is just too much. Plus, the holes at lhd and goal could make this especially bad, as we are looking at a compressed season in a very difficult division, without elaborating, cozens could become a very important piece in the near future. Kane is a pipe dream right now, do everything you can to shore up the d (especially the left side) and get a competent vet goalie. Thats the play that shows up in the standings, we cant afford to have a historically bad pk again. I would actually like to see borgen up here at some point, a defensive d on the right side would be something of interest, but theres still 4 guys in front of him.
