Cole Caufield is playing for the University of Wisconsin their first game is like in 5 days. So he's not eligible to play in the NHL until their season is done probably late March or April.

I find Quinn a little overrated.

I love Jack Quinn. But Cole Caufield scored goals at every levels he play. he tied most goal for a freshman in a terrible team at Wisconsin. He score goal vs older player. Jack Quinn exploded this year. In his 1st year he had 12 goals and now 52. He will have high expectation for him but he will play vs younger player.

For the pure reason 1 was a top 10 pick in loaded draft and the other wasnt even top 15. This could change when you see them have some nhl action especially since i think caufield is really good. But there is no way that goes even straight up much less adding a 3rd to quinn

Quite honestly I think both teams are happy With their selections and neither team would give up either. That being said I still think Caufield is the better player, he should have gone top 5-10 in his draft but teams were too afraid his size would be an issue. Now I bet those teams that allowed him to drop to 15 are kicking themselves for not selecting him but they will never admit that publically.

What has he done to warrant teams kicking themselves. He had a good year at NCAA but tbh it wasn't more impressive than his performance with the USNDT.
He has a very good chance of being a top 5 goal scorer but so does Quinn.
But I would imagine at the moment both teams are content

Setting the big ten scoring record as a freshman has never been done before. I would say that is quite the accomplishment. Proving those who passed on him wrong that he was not too small to compete against men. Sure his accomplishments on the USNDT were very good but those accomplishments against his peers are nothing compared to the ones earneď against bigger stronger and older competition.
