I find Nylander is either insanely overrated or insanely underrated on this site. Some fans think hes a top 20 wing in the NHL which he's not (yet), and others want to trade him for a bag of pucks and a coupon for two Uncle Burger Combos at A&W.

Here's something your chart doesn't take into account:

Over the next four years, Nylander is owed $24 million, or $6 million per year.

Over the next two years, Point is owed $15 million and Tkachuk $16 million, after which I predict they will get new contracts at substantially more than $7 million per year.

Over the next 4 years, Aho is owed $30.27 million and Rantanen a whopping $37.5 million.

PS. I hope that the fact that Nylander has the lowest ice time per game of all the players on your chart isn't lost on people.

Wings do not want Kerfoot, Holl, Dermott, Engvall or any other depth pieces you Leaf fans keep adding to these trades. Just stop.

Well, he is probably a top 20 wing. Probably around the 25th spot I'd say.

I don't why folks consider NHL starting Dmen Holl and Dermot...depth pieces. Leafs who need cap space need those two guys making a total of 2.9m. Holl is plus player playing 20 minutes a game, and Dermot plus player playing 17 minutes a game. Same like those two guys would be fine additions to almost any team. Kerfoot is fine in his role at 3.5m, admitting better value might be available.

They're both bottom pairing caliber players, when on a good team. That is the definition of depth pieces. No one is saying they don't belong in the NHL, or are garbage, but those types of players would be moved to competing teams that need help on their bottom pairings, not rebuilding teams.
