stockpiling picks for a 2021 or 22 rebound and getting younger

Description
All the players signed for 1 year contracts ( Vatanen , Hamonic , Granlund , Janmark , Zadorov , Wallmark , Kampf , Carpenter ) are trade deadline bait If they do not play up to and or exceed expectations . If these trade deadline day trades happen it would mean that Boqvist , Mitchell would get at least 12 to 20 games with the hawks not taking into account injuries . This gives ( Boqvist , Mitchell , Beaudin ,Regula ) a chance to get lots of ice time and build chemistry also lets Stanbo see what they have and what there needs are in the future . If my contracts to Vatanen and Hamonic seem low there is cap space to adjust . I believe at this point in free agency when all the teams have pretty much spent there cap space this is give or take what they will sign for . I have really high hopes for Pius Suter from the videos i have seen and what i have read he seems like a 45 to 65 point guy who is a 200 foot player . In fact I think this is why Stanbo traded away SAAD ( LOVED SAAD JUST NOT AT 6 MIL PER ) I also have high hopes for Lankinen and think he ends up the starter by the end of the season , and if not next year with the expansion draft the hawks should be able to find a goalie available until Comesso is ready

Dylan Strome doesn't have that much trade value. Anthony Cirelli won't sign that contract. The Penguins might want Johnson as their 3rd line center but I doubt it. Why is Granlund playing over Kane and DeBrincat? Cirelli won't be happy about going from 2C on the Stanley Cup champs to 3C on a really bad team. If I were Edmonton I'd accept.

You can’t retain on that many salaries. I also can’t see the pens paying for Tyler Johnson when he was just available for free.

Tampa retained 1250000 hawks retain the same . Tyler Johnson ( 40 to 55 points ) at 2.5 million a year is a fantastic contract for a team that is cap strapped and in win now mode or even any team if you think about it . You have to take that into consideration .

Granlund is a former 69 point player who has had 2 down yrs in the right situation he can be great that is why he ie on the first line . read the description of my team and you will see why he is on a one year contract . Kane is the best driver of offence on the team and has not been teamed up with JT consistently in yrs so that they can balance the offence . Cirelli played as 2c because of injuries and had 44 points he has no arbitration rights . Kubalik had more points and more goals and is older and signed for 3.7 mil on a two year bridge contract . Like i said in my description at this point in time in free agency most teams have used up there cap space

Pittsburgh Pens are in with Tyler Johnson if he is retained 2M plus. And they arnt getting a 2nd round pick for him!! TBL tried to give him away for free. They are gonna have to retain atleast 1M on his salary and trade an asset( a draft pick or prospect to get rid of him and his contract right now). And they have no leverage anymore. It’s not gonna be good to bring him back into the locker room.

Retain 2M on T.Johnson and the Pens would give up a 3rd or a 4th round pick. I doubt it would be more than that!!

And you can only Retain 3 salaries at one time.

Cirelli would be the 2C if everyone on TBL was healthy. The reason he doesn't put up so many points is he is a two way forward with great defense to balance out his offense, which isn't awful.

Your forgetting Stamkos plays center . Even an aging Stamkos ( 98 points 45 goals two yrs ago , 66 points 29 goals this season in 57 games until he got injured ) and he is only 30 by the way is a far better center then Cirelli ( career high 44 points )

Stamkos played winger the last few seasons. He played some with Point at center, some with Cirelli, I don't remember if he or Johnson played center when they played together.

A.Cirelli > Mittelstadt. Cirelli is gonna be a top 10 Selke center for the next 7-10 years.

Yep, Stamkos plays RW now. For the past couple years.

Middlestadt will want less money though, and the Bolts get a 1st. They get rid of Johnson as well. I think Lightning probably accept this unless they really don't like Middlestadt.

Then Bufalo loses Middlestadt in expansion probably for nothing . Cirelli or Sergachev one of the 2 is gone in Tampa no cap space . Tampa d already took a hit they lost 2 dmen . Sergachev just came off his elc is 21 yrs old plays 20 plus minutes and had 34 points him and Hedman are the future of this teams defence , Considering Tampa has Stamkos , Point , Gourde , Coleman and Cirelli at center I think Cirelli gets traded before Sergachev thats my opinion

I agree I'd rather have Sergachev than Cirelli. The only problem is Hedman, Sergachev, and Mcdonagh are all lefties.

Umm nope, you have to play 3 years in the NHL to be eligible for the expansion draft. Middlestadt is exempt. Just like J.Marino is . Just like A.Fox is. Anyone who’s 2nd year or less is exempt and don’t have to be protected. Come on man, 1st retaining 4-5 contracts and now the expansion draft false hoods.

And TB already said they don’t mind getting rid of assets in draft picks in order to get rid of T.Johnson and Killorn. Probably 2nd round and 3rd round picks. Come on, they are gonna sign Cirelli and Sergachev. Who are u kidding..? I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved Stamkos. That would be more likely than them trading Cirelli and Sergachev will both be signed in TB. I’ll bet my house on it.

Don’t take it so personally my man. But Buffalo doesn’t trade Middlestadt and TB doesn’t trade Cirelli. I highly doubt either of them have any interest in moving either player. Both teams say no.

I just read the expansion draft rules . If you have played more then 2 seasons in the nhl you are not exempt from the expansion draft . Middlestadt just finished his elc and will be 23 yrs old for the expansion draft he will have played in parts of 4 seasons this would mean he can not play more then 9 games in the nhl this season . As for stamkos complete no move clause and at 8.5 million per almost unmovable at this point in free agency unless your getting back a really bad contract in return or a really bad return

* All players with no movement clauses at the time of the draft, and who decline to waive those clauses, must be protected and will be counted toward their team's applicable protection limits.

* All first- and second-year NHL players, and all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward protection limits.

That’s the problem. The pens are cap strapped. They aren’t going to pay to take on even TJ at 2.5 million. Maybe if it was for like a 3rd or 4th and Sceviour. But not a 2nd. The pens have a lot of forward depth right now and aren’t exactly desperate.
