If you want to make the argument that he’s a very low end top pair guy, i won’t fight you on it. The point remains that you would want mcavoy playing 4 minutes more than Brodie every night at minimum.

I know the trade is unrealistic but value wise I think its definitely fair. Nylander can play LW on the 2nd line and craig smith can play RW on the 2nd line.

Not sure Min would do that trade either. The pick, probably 16-23, (make the playoffs and lose in the first round) or worse (they win a round in the playoffs), isn't enough to give up those prospects. If I'm calling Min, the first player I'm asking about is Dumba, but Greenway and Eriksson Ek are not far behind. Kerfoot and Mikheyev have value, but they don't tip the scale nearly enough.

tavares is a 1c. but nylander has 2 elite scoring centers to play wing with. it makes his numbers inflated a little bit when he isnt carrying a line. if hes playing on the bruins hes on line 2 with krejci and who? nylander wouldnt crack 50.

I think Reilly and holl for mcavoy would be the worst trade made in Bruins history. First off, scrap holl. His value is literally zero to the bruins. Honestly maybe negative value because it’s just a roster spot and cap space when they have internal options they like better. Disagree with bruins management on that? I’m not going to argue with you. Maybe you’re right. But bruins management clearly love what they have internally, or they would have coughed up a 3rd rounder for Nate schmidt.

Mcavoy is the bruins best player. He’s 22. Four years left of team control. He’s better than Reilly. His contract situation is better than Reilly. There’s just no conceivable scenario where the bruins trade mcavoy to toronto without Matthews in return. Toronto definitely won’t do that, of course.

Holl is worth kevan miller. Rielly is probably worth debrusk but as currently constituted ide rather keep debrusk. since now rielly has to play with carlo top 2 and our bottom 4 dpairings are trashed.

what about pastrnaks numbers then? hes been placed with bergeron and marchand since he got here you dont think thats helped him? maybe berg isnt the same offensively as matthews and jt but hes an elite center, nylander is a top 15 rw in the nhl which makes him the 1rw on at least half of the teams if not more, im not here to argue this trade, nor am i here to say nylander is better than pasta cause hes not, but hes a 1st line rw
