I'd at least think about it as Detroit. Don't need Byron at all but getting Mete and a 2nd could be worth it. His buyout isn't awful either.

Hard to say. He was a 5th round pick this year. Too soon to tell how good he could be.

I don't think MTL is better here. You free some cap space, but you use that Cap space to sign Duclair, who honestly isn't a huge upgrade on Byron.

If you do that deal with DET, I'll go for a better prospect (especially if you include Mete in the deal). Of course Raymond, Veleno and Zadina are out, so perhaps a Niederbach, Mastrosimone, Tuomisto or Berggren. Not sure if DET do it, but personally I would not give Mete and a 2nd juste for the sake of moving Byron, especially if its to use that space on Duclair who would no spot to slot in in our lineup.

If I was just dumping Byron I wouldn't have included Mete and I would have just went Byron + 2nd for a 6th. Which Detroit would most definitely reject. By getting trading both Byron and Mete and signing Duclair we get some cap room without getting weaker we get some prospect depth at RHD and most importantly we get about 4-5Mil in deadline cap space if we need to add for a playoff run.
