Wow like half the ECHL will be better than Z*c Rin*ldo at that point no exaggeration it just boggles my mind why he'd be on NHL radars even currently... yikes

Other non awful players can provide the things he is purported to provide so why not pursue them

He's even a terrible person (the letang comments)

Hyman will be closer to 6M no questions. I would think CLB keeps korp at that rate. I think paying an older guy like Raanta as an example to backup Campbell is the real plan

Last year he was on pace for 60 points. Last 2 years pace to score 25G on avg easy. He is one of your better players all around. Looking at all the guys who put up those numbers and what their salaries are... Kreider, Gallagher are 2 examples of recent signings. I would be shocked if he gets less then 5M, and only see him taking 5M if there’s extra term. But 4M would be one heck of a discount for a guy who like him and would be incredible for the team

You are quite low on Hyman and Rielly. Both guys are super underpaid right now, there's no chance they sign these deals.

Korpisalo is likely a classic "looks like garbage when he's no longer in a D first system" goalie.

Also, why on earth would they switch back to a 2 dmen PP system???

Im just assuming Hyman and Rielly takes pay cuts to win championships. Your probably right some cases, though I have hope they take a cut in pay to allow the core to stay in tack.

For Korpi, yeah.. probably. 4 million is fair but slightly pushing it for him. Plus, looking back on this past season, the dude is a workhorse in my opinion and can play just as well on a injury riddled squad.

As for the 2 Dmen PP, There's two reasons. First, Rielly and Liljegren are both offensively gifted and are both Left and Right handed shots respectively and can score and put up points (Liljegren is doing so at the AHL level, so it wont be long maybe till he does the same in the NHL). Second, I didn't see many options at Center for the 2nd PP, so I decided to put Liljegren on 1st PP to still give the 1st PP a lot of offence, so I though maybe Tavares can provide a boost and and balance with the 2nd PP.

This is all just speculation. I don't think it will all happen but its nice to think about different possibilities.

Your right... Hyman should get twice as much... 3m x 8years.

Rielly gets at least 6m. I would think 7+.

Guys are only going to take so many pay cuts in their careers, they are the biggest bargains on the Leags today, I doubt they want to play their entire careers on team friendly deals. Rielly below 7.5 would still be a good deal, so you're you too optimistic here.

Liljegren isn't going to be a PP guy in the NHL, he's following along the same path as Dermott. They can fill in incase of injuries, but won't be a top 3 option on a good team.

2 Dmen PPs are usually among the worst in the league, doubtful Leafs are ever at the point they need to go back to that system. Possibly on the 2nd PP if injuries pop up.

Also really not sure how you see Korpisalo as a workhorse, the guy has never played more than 37 games in a season. Didn't even keep the crease against the Leafs in the playoffs. I doubt he becomes anything more than a decent platoon goalie in his career. He'd be far down my list as far as possible Andersen replacements.

I could see $4m x 7 for Hyman. But he may be the one guy that takes a discount.

I think Rielly is $7+, and that's likely still a team friendly deal.

This isn't to you, more the OP and fans in general. It's all well and good to suggest guys take discounts to win, but leaving $2m per year on the table equals 14m+ over the life of a contract. Yes athletes make a crazy amount of $$, but Rielly's next contract not only sets him up for life, it could set up his entire family for life. Kind of ridiculous to expect these guys to work for that much less than they're worth.

Couple more discussion points.

IMO Hallander is on this team, and Amirov is likely seriously pushing for a job, considering this year is already his 2nd in the KHL.
