We just spend the offseason trying to get bigger, why move armia? And if this guy is so good why would the jets move him?

Jets fans and there loyalty and nostalgia, no thanks, worst comes to worst injury wise, I would rather have roslovic as a top 6 option than armia.

MTL adds drastically.

Roslovic has had a slow start, but has the higher potential and is already not all that much different. There's also MUCH more contract security. Armia on 1 year left with no future in MTL isnt worth half of Roslovic.

Long term yes but short term no. Eliotte Friedman said Roslovic is "headed for a fresh start" in his last 31 thoughts article. Armia had a career year where he was on pace for 20 goals and 37 points in 71 games. (Had 16G, 14A in 58 GP). Laine and the Jets seem to parting ways soon but the Stastny trade makes it seem like they're going for the Stanley Cup next season so you trade a player who may be better in the future for one that is better right now.

This makes no sense. We can’t afford Armia, and we’re only saving $350K by making this trade. We’d only be able to keep either player for one year, so I’d rather have Armia & his size.

Hence the 4yr/$12M contract extension with the Jets for Armia. The contract security is more similar then.

Traded Weal along with a pick and it would work. Why couldn't we keep Roslovic for more than 1 year I have him signed to a 2 year extension and then he would an RFA again.

WPG wont want to extend him until after the expansion draft...I don't think this will happen if you dont want to move wither Chiarot or Edmundson

I wouldn’t say he’s a 2LD in an ideal world. Although, that’s unfortunately where he’ll likely be playing this year. And he has a really bad contract.

It’s fair but Armia is a rental. Also Roslovic has skills but I don’t think the coach trusts him

He is a defensive Dman that gets 20+ points, hits hard, big body, making 3.5M....good enough for me
