I’d wager most consider him a solid #5 and comparing his utilization on a bottom feeding team. He wouldn’t start over Hronek or Seider so yeah 3rd pair guy, lots of things can change in 1.5 years. Also with the addition of Stetcher you’re really grasping at straws here. You consider Zaitsev a top pairing guy also?

Just wondering why you consider him a bottom pairing Dman. He’s struggled in Washington but idk if I would consider him or label him as strictly a bottom pairing guy. Seems a little harsh/ premature. He looked really solid last part of the year for Washington. Shatty got BO of NY do you consider him a bottom pairing guy bc he struggled in a new system?

Being utilized is different than being useful or effective. He was a good player playing on a bottom feeding team. Do you think this applies to Zaitsev?

He’s a bottom pairing defensemen on a contending team In my eyes until he has a decent sample size to show otherwise. Just because a team utilizes a player on a specific pairing doesn’t make them that (eg Zaitsev first pairing, Sergachev third pairing). Just because I see Jensen as a solid #5 doesn’t mean he’s not useful or effective you need guys like that. Could he become a second pairing guy? Potentially but it’s no guarantee. My statement is we already have a surplus of quality guys above him so why trade for him? It has nothing to do with system as you can see Shatty had a resume pre & post Rags which you really can’t say about Jensen outside of one year.
