Yeah getting rid of TJ will cost them something. The harder part is to find the team where TJ would be willing to waive for.
Would be willing to waive to AND has the capspace to accept him. Tampa probably doesn't want to take cap back either.
Teams with > 5M capspace
Blackhawks - still have to sign D. Strome so they won't work
Bruins - still have to sign DeBrusk so they won't work
Islanders - still have to sign Barzal so that won't work either
Rangers - might have room after signing R. Strome/Lemieux but they have so many young players that are going to need cap raises in the next season or two plus extending Zibanejad in two seasons i don't think it'd be wise for them.
Panthers - have all sorts of space but they're rumored to have internal cap
BlueJackets - they've got room but half their team is RFA/UFA over the next 2 seasons and they have some bad contracts already. They may be willing to do it
nashville- they've got space and some holes in the roster if the young players can't hang. Would he waive to go there (rumor is yes)
senators, kings, wings, devils - they've got space but will he waive? None of those teams look like they'll be terribly competitive this season
