Dallas is the most disrespected team in the NHL. Make it to finals with a half injured roster and they still are predicted by people to be lower than Nashville, Minnesota, and St. Louis. Hilarious.

It's a whole new season, last year doesn't mean anything anymore. A lot of teams added some nice pieces in the Central this year, its always a dog fight. Like the only team I see completely out of it is the Hawks, and they won't even be that bad

True. It is a new season. Stars can't add cause they have to sign Heiskanen to a monster contract over the summer.

Yeah I think the Stars are still going to be solid but yet again I predict the central as the toughest division and its just hard to tell. I do think they are a lock for 3-5 in the division and a wildcard team at least, but I would be surprised if they finished top 2 if I am being honest

Did Pittsburgh really Improve? They added Kapanen, but they lost Murray, they are still the same team that lost to MTL in the in the play in round, just older.

Minnesota added some good players, but they still lack a true number 1 center next year and have 2 backup level goalies, can’t see them much higher then 6th in the central.

The NY Islanders lost a lot but they still have trots, and most of the same forwards plus they are adding Sorkin, NY Rangers added Laf and will have a full season of Shest/Georgie. Both teams should be better than the devils who added an injury prone Ryan Murray and Cory Crawford.

As for the Atlantic, Tampa and Boston will take a step back, Montreal and Buffalo took steps forward, that division is Toronto’s to lose and Tampa, Boston, Buffalo, Florida and Montreal would have a slug fest for 2 spots.

Lastly the pacific, San Jose should be better then they were last year, Arizona will finish last unless Kuemper wins the vezina and Anaheim will finish above LA.

Marchand is out until mid-January and Pastrnak mid-February. NHL wants to start season on Jan 1 but it could be delayed again. Even if it does, 63 is out 2 weeks and Bruins added Smith at RW (11-3-3 in '18-19 without 88).

I definitely see some of your points there. I definitely could see the Penguins taking a step back. That was my 1 "off the board pick" if you will. I think that they have an underrated d-core, and I think the realization that this might be the last chance with the core of Crosby, Letang, Malkin will be a huge motivation factor, kind of like the blackhawks in 2017 when they were good but got embarrassed by Nashville in the playoffs, I could see something similar play out.

Personally I believe that the Wild are a team that is slept on, is there question marks? yes. However they have one of the best dcores in the league and I really like the depth adds they have made, also I am a huge fan of Kaprizov and I expect him to have a big impact next season.

The Islanders and the Rangers I just have weird feelings about. I do think its going to take sometime for everything to come together for the Rangers especially since I am not a fan of their D-core besides Fox and Deangelo. I think the loss of Devon Toews will hurt more then alot of people realize for the Isanders, he is a very good player. Also, a lot of things went right for them last year in terms of players having career years, it will be tough to replicate that.

Boston has the best forward depth in the league, and there is no reason to think Tampa will be much worse if at all compared to last year. I agree, Buffalo and Montreal to an extent improved, but I still see it being very hard to make it in for them. Personally, I am not a very big fan in the way the Panthers are going.

San Jose has in my opinion, has given me no reason to move them up. They are stuck with bad contracts and a bunch of 'meh' players on the roster. You could make an argument for Arizona to finish last. I like LA's chances to be the most improved California team because of the way that they played and a lot of their prospects seem to be the most NHL ready between the Californian teams.

I respect your opinion but this is just some of my reasonings

Again it has more to do with the Pens just playing better. Sid wasn't himself after returning from injury last season and him playing at the top of his game makes a HUGE difference. That is just 1 example

I do agree on most of these, the only one I’d have to look more into is Minnesota, they do have an amazing dcore but the forwards are all defensive and the goalies scare me, honestly they kinda remind me of Columbus, but with slightly worse goalies and no real number 1 center. At least Columbus had PLD, Minnesota’s number one center right now is probably Bonino or Johansson.

What's hilarious is you pretending that being placed below STL is the same as being placed below MINN and NASH. Really though?

Both are good 3rd line centers imo and a 2nd line in a pinch, just like Boone Jenner was with Columbus. Neither a 1st line centers. I can see them running 3 3rd lines and a 4th line, I just don’t see how that gets them into the playoffs in a center all division with Dallas, St.Louis, Colorado, Winnipeg and Nashville.

Penguins are older and "Sid" and the other superstars arent the issue. Penguins have maybe one of the worse bottom sixes in the NHL... Not to mention they are banking on Matheson and Ceci becoming good players. Penguins actually got softer by dumping Horny and getter Kappy. NOT TO MENTION they had a great 1-2 punch in net.... now they dont. so many thing that need to go right for this to make any sense.

It really depends on how they construct their lineup in my opinion. I could see them doing really good or near the bottom. They are hit or miss

Yes, they have three solid guys still, and I even like Clifton (even if they seem not to so much). But they're probably also losing Chara, and that means the bottom 2-3 guys on their D are suuuuuuh-spect.

Who had a career year besides nelson? Losing toews sucks, but Dobson can easily provide similar value and boychuk will either be in Bridgeport or traded. He was worth -0.9 wins last season. They’re also adding sorokin who has a good chance of being in the Calder conversation
