Description
I have a feeling Arizona needs to shed salary. This gives them a long term RD answer while opening up $2.65M in salary for the upcoming season.

The Wild definitely do not need to add here.

I don’t hate it if nothing else just to have a guy to protect in the expansion draft on D, that being said if the coyotes are adding picks like everyone is saying then I think they decline. Losing Dvorak hurts though, he’s essentially our only top 6 center so it’ll take quite a bit

Wild might need to add. Dvorak is criminally underrated, and while I like Dumba, the Coyotes don't have a burning need for him.

The Coyotes have no RHD signed past this season, but they have a younger center than Dvorak who projects higher, in Hayton. This seems like a decent fit for both sides, to me. Seems pretty fair as posted. Good luck with it.

Wild are not the team adding here. We're also not taking Goligoski back because we don't have the cap space. Dump him elsewhere. You're also going to be pretty surprised when Dvorak isn't actually even close to a 1C.

Lol you can simply see from observing the post that creating cap space is possible and Goligoski is a better version of Brad Hunt. Goligoski could be a 1 year stop gap until Addison is ready and Dvorak is not a 1C, more like a solid 2C at best, but he would be much better than rolling out Marcus Johansson at 1C. The idea is fit him there and make him 2C once Rossi can overtake him.

Giving up Dumba for a middle-6C seems like way too much, taking back Goligoski makes it worse.

I see no reason for AZ to make this trade. If they want to shed cap they have plenty of other (older and rental) players they could use for that, not a younger guy on a fair contract.

I don't see a problem taking a middle6 C in return for Dumba, but there needs to be a prospect and/or pick included, and definitely not add a negative like Goligoski. Min could use a little cap space relief as well, although that's not the highest priority, it would be a nice side benefit.

I posted a possible trade idea in the trade machine yesterday

Check your calendar, though. Is it still 2020? Are any teams trading for any veterans on average contracts if they're not accompanied by picks? Now do you see the logic of the original post? I think it's brilliant.

There is no logic to it.
-It involves a buyout; which can't happen from MN.
-MN adds $4m in cap for the year. And takes a downgrade at RD, and adds another a center than isn't any better than anything that's already on the team.
-It's selling low on Dumba (which is deserved after his last season), and buying really high on Dvorak.
-Goligoski isn't needed.
-This lineup has 1 RHS d-man, and 2 RHS FWDs. It's completely unbalanced and makes the PP easy to defend against.
