We'd rather struggle to sell 1 year of Loui than 3 years of Zaitsev next offseason. Neither are nhl players right now. Even if Nikita was, his contract is just as big of a joke as Loui's.

Loui isn't a meme. He's a 1.5 million 4th liner with reasonable PK and own zone ability. Paid 4 times as much as he should.

I doubt Eriksson ever sees 20 points again. He’s a subpar producing 14th forward. Having him on the ice is a negative, at any cost. $6MM cap hit just makes it worse.

Honest question, let’s assume Eriksson was bought out, whether he would be or not is irrelevant, just say it happened. Would you sign Eriksson to a 1 year, $700K contract?

The biggest drawback on Eriksson, as far as Ottawa is concerned, is he takes too many shifts off.

Dorion has built a team of hard workers. Ryan took a few shifts off, and it cost him ice time, and eventually a buyout. Ryan is still very skilled, and he works harder now than 5 years ago, but it’s still not all the time. This is also where Logan Brown will succeed or fail.

I was a fan of Eriksson in Dallas, and I thought Boston made a good acquisition. These days, Eriksson just isn’t that guy anymore.

Bobby Ryan can't be a depth guy. Loui can. I'd rather have Loui for 1.5 than Bobby for 700k.

You can talk work ethic and such but Loui has tried really hard to try and be useful even if he can't score anymore. That's why he didn't get bought out.
