Honestly I always liked Comtois with Getzlaf and having Steel as a 2C where he belongs.

Like the Islanders trade a lot but it feels a little light. Ducks probably won't need the space for the next couple of years, but $6 million against the cap for two years is heavy for any team, even if the real money is far less.

Obviously I'd be cool with it, but unless there's either a better prospect included or some sort of retention

Holmstrom was a first round pick last year + a 2nd rounder. Feels like a good deal for both teams

Perhaps, but he was a pretty massive reach honestly, wasn't projected to go until 40-50 I think. I'm sure other GMs have a different opinions on him than I do lol but I just don't know if he's really gonna reach whatever potential he has

The Boychuk trade as is only works because the OP has traded away Henrique and gained an additional $5 million of cap space by doing so. Without that, the Islanders would have to retain at least $1.5 million to allow the Ducks to stay under the cap with maneuvering space.
