No, we're not gonna let our #1 defenseman just walk like that

I understand that the Oilers hate defence and think people who want to keep the puck out of the net should be shot. What I question is the logic of that argument. That being said letting Holl go would be stupid.

Idk about that I love having larsson and russell but holl isn’t as good as either of them nor good enough to justify pushing anyone out of the line up

You are correct in that Holl plays defence, and yes you generally need 6 of them, however you really only need 3 on the right side. Edmonton has 3 top 4 RD in Larsson, Barrie, and Bear, plus Bouchard will likely be ready for 3rd pairing duty sometime this year.

Holl is not better than any of our current RHD, doesn’t have the ceiling of Bouchard and so will have no chance at any icetime. Edmonton has no use for a 3rd pairing Holl at a $2M price tag.

Your nonsense about the oilers hating defence is ludicrous considering that Edmonton has allocated capspace for a good defence, unlike Toronto.

Toronto did allocate cap space for a good defence. How good any of the recent transactions will be and how teams perform remains to be seen. As far as your D is concerned it depends on the guys you have and how you use them. Barrie is a good offensive D when used properly but he's mostly a PP specialist. Holl is more of a Defensive D with offensive upside. Not really a 2 way D but has some offensively strong skills.

You just described Larsson so we have no need for Holl

That I agree with. Toronto giving up a player like that makes no sense and the Oilers taking on a player like that when they may not have a need for that doesn't either.
