If you're trading Toews because you want to rebuild I think you would want to get more picks than that. Also wouldn't it make more sense to keep Strome if you want to play the young guys more?

Doubt Carolina can afford Toews for 3 more years @ $8.5M per they'll need to lockup both Svechnikov and Hamilton and that could run them about $17 mil combined. And Hoffman wants between $6M-$6.5M for one year.

Do not really seen the canes as a fit for Toews. The canes are pretty decent down the middle with aho, trochek, toews, and necas will eventually be the 2nd line center. That trade would really hurt the canes defense trading away Skjei and Bean. I could see the canes trading 1 left Dman because Bean deserves a spot in the lineup but trading 2 leaves the canes with a hole there. Then you add on top Bokk and another first. Its way way to steep of a price for the canes to trade for a position in which they dont need to strengthen

No matter how many of these you do, we aren’t trading Tuch. Strome is a nice player, but the 2C spot is Glass’s for better or worse.
