Why in the world would the Sabres trade for a 37 year old defensemen? If you want to go "All in" you attempt to trade for Kane, you go after Keumper instead of Raanta and you send Risto to the moon

Right, which Cozens would be the only one of those pieces they shouldn't move just because they are going to need production from a player on his ELC. I don't think there is a way that Chicago and Buffalo would ever work out a deal for Kane due to both teams wants/needs and cap situation. The only way Buffalo could make a move for Kane and not screw themselves over long term is if they sent Skinner the other way, which I doubt Chicago would want for that contract

Exactly, which is why I find these Buffalo trades for Kane comical. Hawks won't trade him, and Buffalo isn't good enough yet to sacrifice their future cap space to chase a cup
