Not a chance the Isles get a second for dumping Nick Leddy. He is nowhere near the player Nate Schmidt is at this point and he only got a future 3rd

I think Leddy is our Toews replacement. I think I overestimated how valuable he’d be to other teams. His cap hit is manageable but he’s going to make $6.5 million this year and $7 million next year lol no one wants that for a 4th defenseman at best. I pumped his tires quite a bit over the shutdown, but he’s just not very good anymore for some reason and I’m not sure why. He’s only 29 I think, it’s weird.

His numbers did take a bad turn in 18-19, which is why I’m still gonna maintain that he just doesn’t fit in with Trotz rather than he’s just straight up bad but idk.

His numbers get better away from boychuk, but I’m not confident mayfield is the right partner for him. Dobson + Leddy have over 60% xgf% in 40 min together, I think that would be a solid 2nd pairing

You'd have to retain at least $1.5 million on Boychuk to make the numbers work. Even after putting Kesler on the LTIR list, we'd have less than $5.5 million in cap space.
