I actually wouldn’t mind picking up Granlund. With our wingers he should be able to get back to his 60 point seasons without great difficulty.

I think it is more of a case of keeping his powder dry in a weird off season and not doing anything with any long term ramifications beyond adding Alexis to the roster. Smith and 80% of the dead money fall off the cap after the season. But i think he could have improved the team more in low risk low term ways if they wanted to.

I mean i dont know about screwed. Hayes got $5m for 1 yr settling before Arb hearing. I think Strome comes in between 4.5 and 4.75 for a 1 year deal. They can sign him and lemieux still at that number and have some flex with the bonus overage.

Chytil isnt ready to play 2C.

Strome knows the system and has built some chemistry with the team, he will get around 4.5m which is fine.

No I think you'll be fine but you'll end up paying strome more than you probably should

I mean is Strome my ideal 2C? no. Is he an NHL 2C right now and this coming season? yes. Is paying a 2C $5m on a 1 year deal something to get worked up about? No.
