Interesting on its surface but Calgary would need to clear more cap space for Nylander. The positives for Calgary are their weakness on the the right side, Nylander's greater size, and the relative gain in ages. Both main players are soft. I assume Nordstrom is added to balance the salaries a bit since Nordstrom could have been had as a UFA by the Leafs if they really wanted him.

IF Tor were to trade Nylander it wouldn't be to replace him with an older player who is much closer to UFA

His defensive side is also starting to come out and I think his ceiling is sky high.
