Description

With Virtanen signing the team is officially over the cap for next season, meaning Benning has another move up his sleeve. I'm guessing he has a small cap-dump trade lined up and/or he has some inside knowledge that Ferland will be staying on LTIR. Either way, he's said he's still looking at bringing in another Dman, so someone has to go.

That will work too, but I'm betting they don't want to run with less than 23 players, especially if Ferland is one of them.

You might be right, but that’s a little disappointing as it doesn’t clear all that much space this year and adds a bit next year.

After hearing the ridiculous returns that teams are asking for in exchange for cap dumps, I don't think there's much hope to move any dead-weight contracts.

Which makes it all the more troubling for VAN, because they'll definitely need to move one or two next offseason.

Canucks cant buy out anyone..they signed virtanen before he went to arbitration..meaning they no longer have a buyout window
