Nothing of interest there for the Kings. AJF is a C+/B- prospect at best and is a long shot for the NHL. The only thing coming back of any value is the 2nd, and that's not enough for Iafallo.

Washington's prospect cupboards are pretty bare. The Kings would certainly accept a return of McMichael or Lapierre, but I can't imagine that the Capitals would want to go for that. I could see the Kings entertaining a return of a lottery protected 1st or two 2nd round picks.

I can't see a package here that would work for both teams.

Since OP is dumping Jensen cheap, and Jensen would bring a 2nd at the deadline, maybe something like Jensen 2nd 3rd for Iafallo helps you both, and the Kings can flip Jensen within the year to make up the value gap?

Possibly, but still unlikely. Value isn't unfair in that deal, but that leaves a gap at 1LW on the Kings with no one to fill it this year. Kempe is already slotted in above his potential at 2LW (he should be at 3LW), so this leaves the Kings with zero top-six LW options.

If the Kings were willing trade Iafallo, I imagine they could find a better return with a different trade partner that had more to offer in the prospect department. 2nd and 3rd round picks are nice, but they're 4-5 years from becoming NHL players, and I think the Kings would want more immediate help.

Yeah. Kempe might be the long term solution, but there's no sense rushing him to top line. Panik or Hagelin would be a bit overmatched there. So might Galchenyuk or DeMelo, although on a one-year deal, with top line minutes next to Kopitar, either of the last two could net another decent pick at the deadline.

Kempe is not a top-six forward. I have him penciled in as the long-term 3LW for the Kings. Anyone that expects him to be a 1LW/2LW has unrealistic expectations. He has never scored at a top-six rate at any level he's ever played.

Turcotte is the eventual 1LW for the Kings, but he's still a full season away from the NHL, and likely another season after that away from the top six. I think they hope Lias Andersson is the 2LW of the future, but he may or may not work out. If he doesn't, they'll need to acquire someone via trade or free agency.
