      Détails additionnels:
The Canucks will be in a position to add a defenseman before the Expansion draft. Some teams will have extra players that they can't protect, so they may be available. It might not necessarily be Dumba and it might not be this price, but a defenseman can be added through trade. Dumba is just a placeholder for now. Other candidates include Graves/Toews, Foote/Cernak, Gardiner/Bean, etc.

Nice work, I like it. Although I take issue with one thing you've outlined regarding the expansion draft; Holtby will likely be the best selection option for Seattle, not Myers. He's a better player, on a cheaper, shorter contract. The one thing that may work in the Canucks favor on this is the amount of other good goalies that will be available to Seattle, but Holtby would be a very low-risk pick for them.

But I do like the idea of sending the Kraken some draft capital to make Myers the selection instead if they don't mind taking his contract.

I was thinking that there would be better goalies with more terms available either through the Expansion draft itself, trade or Free Agency. Myers is a decent player, just overpaid. If Seattle goes defense heavy like Vegas did, I could see him being of interest. They can move him with retention if they want.

True, I just think Seattle won't be doing the Canucks any cap favors by selecting Myers unless VAN pays them to do it, like you've laid out here.

Fair, I definitely would not expect them to take that contract for free. I think it would be worth it to give up assets to move that contract though and the Expansion draft is as good of an opportunity as we will get.

in a full season Myer would have had 24-28 points... a small dip from the previous year and all of VAN want to ship him out.... we are much to hard on new players
all of his other stats improved over 15 fewer games.... more blocked shots, more hits, more take-aways and less give-aways, he also started more d-zone that o-zone over previous years... sure his cap hit may seem touch to swallow but with he is what VAN needs right now big, tough and defensively responsible.

IMO VAN should be looking to protect Myers in the expansion draft

I think the amounts that Pettersson and Hughes are being signed for are on the high side. Not because they're not worth it, but because we'll be coming off of another COVID season and as a result a flat cap once again. My gut feel says Petey gets $9-$9.5M and Hughes gets $7 - $7.5M, but term might be 3 years instead, keeping them as RFAs once again. I also don't see Juolevi getting the ice time to show that a $1.75M contract is warranted...but that's minor at best.

I like that you show the Eriksson and Roussel contracts being dumped without giving up a #1 draft choice, although I don't know the OTT and MIN offers will be enough to get what you want. Maybe they would like Jay Beagle too!! Bwahahahaha!!!

Myers is by no means a bad player. He is definitely an NHL defensemen and would make most if not all defense cores in the NHL better. The problem is that he was dropped down to the 3rd pairing for the second half of the year and never worked his way back up. Green trusted Stetcher more than him. 6M is too much for a 3rd pairing defenseman. On Seattle, he would likely play in the top-4 again and provide positive value for them.

Myers' previous stats were from the Jets teams that had Trouba and Byfuglien on them. I wouldn't read too much into his stats improving since he was given more opportunity here.

The main reason for moving Myers is cap flexibility. Nothing more.

Pettersson's contract definitely isn't high. Pettersson has been slightly more productive and slightly healthier than Eichel, who signed for 13.33% of the cap. The same percentage applied now puts Pettersson at 10.86M and Pettersson could reasonably ask for more than that. Hughes is tougher to gauge, but I think he could be higher than Chabot at 8M. Obviously it depends on if its a bridge deal or a long term deal.

If we have to add more to the Ottawa trade then I expect it wouldn't be much. The Wild deal is just a placeholder for any defenseman the Canucks could acquire before the Expansion draft, pay no attention to the value of the deal.
