Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Start the season with Stamkos on LTIR and keep Johnson on the roster. Get Johnson a lot of PP time, make him look nice and shiny. If there are injuries or a team isn’t playing as well as they thought they would then trade him
Sign Sergachev for a shorter bridge deal and let him play top 4 minutes on the right side to prove he’s worth big money. Coburn and Foote remind me of the Coburn and Sustr pairing which wasn’t the best but it’s cool

Point’s qualifying offer after this contract is at 9 million dollars. We can do something similar with Cirelli maybe making the QO in the high 6 million dollar range at the end, give him an incentive to sign that contract. Sergachev just gets a 2 year deal giving Brisebois enough time to move pieces around. Cernak’s could be a 2 or 1 year deal but 1.9 million without state tax is around 2 or 3 (Iunno math) which is probably what’s teams would try to OS him at.

If NYR sign Cirelli for 5 million without bonuses vs Tampa signing for 4 million without bonuses, he’d make a little more than $200,000 extra in NY. If NY wants to bridge him and sign him for more later then I guess they could incentivize him to sign

Bro I’d love it if Ottawa won the Stanley cup. But it would be the first time that I can remember where a team full of high potential unproven NHL players goes all the way to win a cup. It would be like the Vegas’ run but that even had a good mix of veterans and young talent.

It won't matter how "shiny" TJ looks - there simply are not going to be many teams who can take on an additional $5M in cap once the season starts - probably none!

Just a heads up that 1.9M in Florida <> 3M anywhere in the league. Toronto (randomly chosen high tax if not highest) at 3M is only a couple 100k difference and If you have a good tax advisor even closer. Tax advantages are vastly overrated as typically high tax places (Canada, NY, etc) typically have larger markets and the players get side marketing gigs. Even Vegas has marketing gigs for guys like Reaves.

How does it work? Can you only put a player on LTIR at the beginning of the season? So they have to be cap compliant before the start of the season?

I player has to be injured to be on LTIR, if a player is medically cleared to play then they can't be placed on LTIR. It is highly expected that Stamkos will be healthy by the beginning of the season
