If LA says yes, then why not. You are overpaying Mikiheyev though.

Kings haven't traded a pick for an active NHL player since 2017, they aren't trading one high pick let alone two to a cap-strapped team for Kerfoot coming off a bad year and Dermott who we could offer sheet for without consequence if below $1.3M. They won't because of our good relationship with the Leafs, but come on be realistic here.

Don't act like those picks are anything more than future Bracco's (they are nothing more than lottery tickets) the 2 players are actual NHL players - and yup you could OS Dermott but you'd rather have him at his QO

I had to double check that fact out of curiosity. It holds up, and what a stat that is!

Like I said they won't offer sheet Dermott (nor do they need him), but if you think the Kings can't find quality players in the free agency equal to or greater than Kerfoot's cap hit you are mistaken. They don't need to give up 2 picks to get NHL players. Please also note the Kings are set with their team, and will be using their free cap space from now to the trade deadline for more picks and prospects.

In light of the fact that Nicholas Robertson was the 53rd overall pick in his draft and Justin Holl was the 54th in his, that's an odd thing to say about the pick that is almost certain to be in the top 40 in the 2021 draft.

And why in the world would we pay a draft pick in order to sign a guy at below $900,000 or whatever his QO is when we could spend nothing to sign him at, say, $1,125,000 for 4 years? It's not as if we're in the same zip code as the cap ceiling.

That's 2 players out of 62 ( pretty low odds) I'm not in favor of this trade in any way to be clear - Dermott won't sign at 1.125 x 4 years that'd be foolish for him
