Description
You’ve somehow attempted, and failed, to save face. You’ve decided to rebuild two years too late, you rid us of a HOF coach who nothing to do with your mistakes, and finally the writing was on the wall. I’m not falling for this bull**** of a message to hawks fans today. You don’t give a damn about us and only care about your job. Your embarrassed that Q and the core get all the credit for the championships that you had no hand in building except some depth here and there. Sorry for your fragile ego. Now I can’t even make an AGM with toews and Kane trades cuz no one believes they’ll be traded now. Doesn’t mean it’ll stop me.

An original six franchise that doesn’t even preach accountability, that’s just pathetic. If we’re rebuilding, don’t half ass it.

Thats a legit offer... Plus he putting Zuke on his first line right away. There is no way mtl does that

Considering every fan base will argue against trading some of their best for another team’s best, again, I respect your opinion. Kane for Suzuki straight up not happening may be a little over the top, but yea, I get the fan bias of the trade from both sides.

It is pretty pathetic. Stan is the reason we're in this mess and now he's being given the keys to fix it? How does that make any ounce of sense? If he (and the rest of the FO) had any sense of foresight or any ability to asset manage, we might still have some combination Danault, Teravainen, Panarin and Lehner. And that's just the headliners.

If they had gotten rid of him and then said we're rebuilding, I'd feel infinitely more confident in where we're going. But now it just looks like we're headed for years of purgatory.

Everything he said today hinders on the notion that the organization will FULLY grow the prospects that we have at our disposal. This is on top of trusting stan to actually make good trades for full value. Yea, not feeling confident in that. Couldn’t agree with you more. Other teams that rebuild at least have the sense of mind to actually fire the old GM first and then rebuild with a new one. Not the Blackhawks though......

it's not just Kane for Suzuki, it's a Top Prospect goalie, a big bodied wing prospect, a top prospect center, and Tatar for Kane.... Strome, not a big fan of his game, skating is a little laborious.

plus, with Strome being likely around $4M and with the salary retention, that's $11M in and only $6M out.
Which means Montreal needs to lose another $5M in salary to make this happen, it's no longer just those guys, it's also losing another roster winger.

Montreal went out of their way to fill scoring from the wings, and they'd have to dismantle the depth to get Kane.
This trade isn't a good fit.

Better off sending him to Buffalo for Cozens, a 1st and a 2nd. or something along those lines.

Say what you want about the value, the trade makes zero sense for MTL. They need high end Cs not wings.

Preach brother.

I agree with you, although I wouldn’t call myself a Blackhawk fan per say, I have always respected them as a team.

What’s the optimistic outlook on glass, with Injuries being considered? Genuine question.

Well he put on more weight. Supposedly up to 210lbs. I think he can play between patches and stone, looked good starting there last year. There’s no doubt Toews is better but we need guys on ELC’s and to be good

I only ask because between his struggles this year, both kinda statistically and with injuries, people keep telling me he’ll be lucky to be a 2C. I think that’s a little harsh with his young age, but I do personally think Krebs will be better.

I do too. I’m hoping Krebs forces his way on to the roster this year. Would help a ton

88 *and* Strome though a rather overwhelming return when Strome is already a scorer at Keller PLD Hischier level and just moving into his prime

If you combine Strome's age 20 season scoring rate in the NHL and NHLe in the AHL it's almost exactly the same as that of Nick Suzuki so... gosh

Dylan only has 50 career games of 164 beside 88

Love the frustration & critique there thanks 👍

These guys develop an ego and it swallows them

Reminds me of Doug Wilson staying with Jones

The Jones buyout saves 6.5M and spreads evenly

But no 🙄

MTL takes Kane but not Strome and gives up Kotkaniemi instead of Suzuki and still trade Tatar and weal for cap reasons
