Considering every fan base will argue against trading some of their best for another team’s best, again, I respect your opinion. Kane for Suzuki straight up not happening may be a little over the top, but yea, I get the fan bias of the trade from both sides.
it's not just Kane for Suzuki, it's a Top Prospect goalie, a big bodied wing prospect, a top prospect center, and Tatar for Kane.... Strome, not a big fan of his game, skating is a little laborious.
plus, with Strome being likely around $4M and with the salary retention, that's $11M in and only $6M out.
Which means Montreal needs to lose another $5M in salary to make this happen, it's no longer just those guys, it's also losing another roster winger.
Montreal went out of their way to fill scoring from the wings, and they'd have to dismantle the depth to get Kane.
This trade isn't a good fit.
Better off sending him to Buffalo for Cozens, a 1st and a 2nd. or something along those lines.
