This would be ideal and a great line-up for the Oilers to put out there. That said, it's almost guaranteed that it won't happen as the Oilers won't have the cap space until day one of the season when they put Klefbom on LTIR. Until then, the Oilers only have approx $700,000 in cap space so won't be signing anyone else (including bear) until Klefbom is formally put onto LTIR. I doubt Kahun will wait that long to sign... and someone will likely offer him the money he's looking for long before then.

Chiasson was the Oilers best bottom-6 forward last year, he isn't the first guy to get bumped IMO but he might be the easiest to move due to solid numbers at 5v5 and on the PP. I'll be sorry to see him go.

Who’s taking them? The argument against any team taking Kassian or Chaisson is that they could just go out and get Kahun for less or equal money. Why would they take on the salary from players that aren’t as good when they can just pick up a player from free agency for cheaper?

Or - the Oilers have to give up more assets just to dump Kassian and Chaisson... is Kahun really worth dumping either player plus the extra assets? Depends on what’s required.

Or (and likely the case if the Oilers do trade either player) - if the Oilers do trade either player, they’re bringing salary back in which puts us back to square one if not being able to afford Kahun until Klefbom is on LTIR.

I like the depth on forward although I'm still trying to figure out who the "top 9" are. I'd be hesitant to get rid of Chaisson before we see Puljujarvi back in NA
