My point is that you are using the best argument to make the case for why Danault is better than Toews but it doesn't make sense and it's not even true.

Like I said, I would never make this trade if I was the Canadiens because they aren't "a Toews away from competing". But the whole premise that the value isn't fair is absurd because Toews at 7M is worth this return. Just not smart for Montreal to make the trade

I never said Danault was better then Toews, I said him and Caufield combined are worth more then Toews. There is a difference in value between Danault and Toews, its not a A+ prospect, and a 1st round pick though.

Difference is MTL is youthful and getting better, Chicago is still on their way to the bottom with no end in sight.

I guess you don't know Chicago's prospect pool because it's actually very solid.

Also, hate to break it to you, but Kane and Toews are better than anyone on Montreal.

Toews and Kane both spoke out about how the team was heading in the wrong direction, down. Have fun the next few years.
