Players signed at the minimum (or close to it) arent an issue for the cap- they can be sent down to the minors with zero penalty. A buyout, a trade, or demoting someone like Eriksson will give you some relief. Considering that Tyler Johnson at $5mil was unmoveable- how much do you think teams are willing to spend on Virtanen? he has very little bargaining power.
