No deal, Danault is the better player overall (less offense but better defence) and has positional priority as a centre. Habs just added some wingers in the last couple weeks so the need for Buchnevich is nil.

Now if you wanted to go Lafreniere and Chytil for Danault and a 1st we might consider it. The ONLY thing we need up front is a superstar elite talent. You are desperate for a 2C we have a really really good one that could be made available but it will cost you. A trade tile this kind of makes sense for both sides you get a great 2C without giving up any of your current top 6 players. We get that young potential superstar we are missing up front win-win. BTW I know what your response is going to be. Your going to say that it will cost Suzuki+Caufield+Romanov+2021 1st+2022 1st. If it was before the draft when our only real scoring threats were Drouin, Tatar and Gallagher then yeah you would have had a case but all that leverage is gone now. We have 5 guys who could potentially put up 25-30 goals a year Drouin, Gallagher, Tatar, Anderson and Taffoli Armia, Suzuki and Kotkaniemi could put up another 20 each so our forward group isn't desperate for scoring anymore. The Rangers on the other hand were weak at center before the draft and are still weak at center after a week of FA. Unless you make some other miraculous deal your going to head into the season with the exact same lineup down the middle and going to be wishing you had taken Byfield at the draft by mid season.
