So our cap hit + total bonuses can’t total more than 87.6M when the season starts. Most of the bonuses won’t get paid out so our final cap hit will end up around 81.5m I’m sure, and any overage varies over to next season.

Completely agree, but I think it’s necessary to do so unless we can move smith which is unlikely. So for now come in looking less attractive and once certain bonuses are unattainable and a lot of other players bonuses no longer exist we bring in those 2 guys to boost the roster. And if there’s a small bit of overage it goes to next years cap as we open 10m in cap space from buyouts and get the 4M from smith, 1M from jj

Still a bunch of solid prospects too. Jones, Robertson, rykov, Lundkvist, Schneider. I dont see us drafting D for the next few years. At least not 1st round. Although I see ya losing something at the deadline for a guy like getzlaf to fill in our C for a playoff run. That could be interesting
