Florida's not dealing Tippett and their 2021 1st round pick for Stamkos, No team is helping Tampa out of their mess. And fat chance of Tyler Johnson waiving his full NTC for cellar dweller N. J. He'll stay put before waiving to go there.

At this point Johnson is riding the bus in Syracuse. He waives if it's get him back in the NHL. Surely his entire motivation is increasing his value enough to be given a shot by Seattle.

As for Stamkos. Why would you trade a pick and a prospect for a 90point forward who would absolutely transform you team offensively. That deal is a bargain. Taking Stamkos that cheap isnt helping Tampa its taking advantage.

my only thinking with Johnson to devils is they've got some pieces to be on the way up so he may be convinced to waive there. From what I've read he's willing to work with them so I'm sure he's aware his options are limited. If everything went perfect devils could be a playoff team.

Pretty sure he'll want to go where he can get his 2C job back, And New Jersey has Hischier 1C and Hughes 2C i guess he could play 2nd line RW with Hughes that's the only scenario i see working out for him.

TJ would be RW on NJD.
C depth chart: Hischier, Hughes, Zacha, Zajac, McLeod, Kuokkanen, Merkley, Mercer, Schnarr, Gritsyuk....
RW depth chart: Palmieri, (one of their LW), Bastian, ??

They waived him because they wanted to get rid of his money, but if they can't do that, there's no way they're actually going to play him in the Minors. They'll have to move other money out somehow, but Johnson will play in Tampa.
