Very interesting thoughts, I agree on the Bennett and roslovic thing. But I don’t think niku + 2 2nds gets hanifin. I think he’s going to breakout into a really really good 2 way dman.

I'm also ok (ish) with the 2021 2nd as a 1st if that's the difference in this trade...I would love these two players

I think the flames are a worse team after this trade. if the flames were deciding to rebuild i could see them doing this but with the win now attitude they are currently in theres no way they downgrade at defense and make an essentially 1 for 1 trade with bennett and Roslovic. I disagree with your evaluation of Roslovic being more value then bennett. they are the same value but bennett is more proven in the intangible areas of the game

You think they’d do this if maybe it’s like Heinola + Roslovic + 3rd for Hanifin + Bennett? I think heinous has 2x the value of niku and would jump right into their top 6 so they don’t take that far of a step back.

I think you are underestimating the value of hanifin. I dont know much about Heinola but hes untested at the NHL level and his stats dont shout 1A prospect. Hanifnin is a young D who will likely be a top 2 way defender in the league at some point and bennett just increased his value with his playoff performance. I dont think the flames trade hanifin unless the trade starts with a first round pick and help for them on the NHL roster

Nah, Roslovic's offense is about the same as Bennett's and that won't get you Hanifin. After all the Laine trades you've likely seen on this site I think you would know by now that Quality > Quantity
