man, am I wrong to not want to rely on a 41 year old to be the third line centre? Plus, what if he gets injured? Throwing away kerfoot for a draft pick just so you can carry extra guys in the lineup seems silly. We can totally keep kerfoot and run with a 22 man roster

The leafs offered Dermott 895k. If someone offers him over 1.4M the leafs will let him walk and take the 3rd round pick compensation. NO way they pay him 2.33M. Obviously he didn’t sign the 895k offer sheet yet but he’s not gonna get more than 1M/year from Toronto. And he’s not arbitration eligible.

And Mikheyev is arbitration eligible and has a hearing next week I believe. He will probably win something like 1.5-2M a year

You do know that 41 year old centre has been on LTIR for the past 2 seasons. He is in the final year of his contract and only owed #1M. So how is Detroit relying on Zetterberg for anything?
