  3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2021 (NYI)
  4. Choix de 2e ronde en 2022 (COL)
Détails additionnels:
The Wild will be able to afford to bury Ladd or put him in the pressbox. They most likely won’t be seriously competing next year unless the kids explode offensively and the defense is Minnesota Wild defense. Clutterbuck comes back to his old stomping grounds where his career began. The reason draft picks are the main part coming back to the Wild is that NYI need guys on cheap contracts and ELCs to round out their roster. Whether that’s Dal Colle, Bellows, or Aho.
NYI
  1. Hartman, Ryan (950 000 $ retained)
  2. Parise, Zach
Détails additionnels:
Zach Parise is the best player in this trade. His contract is bad, but he can still put in 25 goals a season when healthy. Ryan Hartman is just as good, if not better than Cal Clutterbuck, and he would be cheaper especially with the retention. The Wild most likely will not tender Hartman a qualifying offer next year due to the amount, so might as well trade him now. NYI also receive about $.5 million in cap space. All they have left is to get rid of Boychuk in a separate deal, and they will be able to squeeze in Barzal and Pulock.

It is simple, Parise to the Isles is dead. They are trying to move out $6M, this trade does nothing to help them.

Honestly Wild can't really take on much salary and islanders cannot either so if Parise to Islanders happens I feel like a 3rd team will need to be part of it.

It can happen if they take all our bad contracts, but I doubt Minnesota would be willing to do that.

This trade idea needs to die, it doesn't work for either team. There was a window at the TDL when it could have worked. Now with the flat cap and moves both teams have already made it's unworkable.

There is very little salary being added on in the end by the Wild. About $500,000. The Islanders are shedding salary.

This trade makes the Islanders better and brings them closer to a Stanley Cup. Also, Ladd is gone with no retention.

So far this offseason no one is really willing to help dump salary hence the Toews trade and the Johnson waiving and Fleury not being traded, so islanders are in a tight spot. This works if Islanders find someone to take Boychuk but until then they need all the space they can get.

It does nothing for MN. It just makes them worse and adds even more bad cap to the team. You're trading away a middle-6 wing and a bottom-6 wing for a pure cap dump and an overpayed 4th line wing. And all there is to show is a late 1st and a late 2nd for the deal. At best you flip Clutterbuck for another 2nd at the TDL in a season and a half.

You could probably flip Hartman for a 2nd/3rd at the TDL this year if you wanted because he's not a true rental and is a guy Playoff teams are always looking for. Parise is overpayed for what he is as a player, but he's still a quality NHL player.

Disagree. This return is better than the one that nearly went through at the trade deadline. The second rounder is more valuable to me than Kiefer Bellows. I would rather see a younger player in there rather than Parise, even if it means taking a step back.

Also, Ryan Hartman will not be traded for only a draft pick at the deadline. The teams in the hunt will be cap-strapped.

TDL is easier to make cap work. It's only not his full cap hit just the 800k or so that he'll be due for the rest of the season, easy enough to retain half of that and not hurt either team. There is also the chance MN takes a Chucky type of rental cap dump back as offset. Plus there is always someone on LTIR that opens up cap. This is why Hartman will have value at the TDL: he's cheap, he chips in points, plays a decent d-zone game, and is physical.

That 1st might not even be better than Bellow, let alone the 2nd; remember the Phillips (late 1st) and Lucia (late 2nd) draft year? It's bad cap for a couple of mystery boxes; which may or may not do anything for the team in the next 4 years; trade. It's just bad for MN for the next 3 years (Ladd's cap). Parise is an unknown how he'll be in 3 years.

Add in Bellows (decent prospect) and another 1st and I might consider it, now it's just a bad deal for MN.
