I can see why, but when is Bean going to get a chance to play, all the canes AGM I don't see Bean in the lineup and for that reason is trade value is lowering, I think Strome for Bokk is fair and Chicago is adding Barratt who was a pretty good college player.

Just because Bean hasn’t cracked the canes roster so far, and is still 7th on the depth chart does not diminish the trade value of the reining AHL defenseman of the year still on an ELC and will be controlled for several more years. Additionally, Bokk is an A level prospect.

At least the Canes would get a 3rd rounder in the deal.

With the way Carolina draft, picks are never a bad thing.

That said, everything you said is correct. Although this is an inventive idea, the value is just wrong.

What if it was Strome + Nylander for Bokk + Bean

The issue is that doesn't help Carolina's top 6. The Hurricanes major hole is at 2LW, not in goal like everyone who looks at Mrazek and Reimer thinks. Someone like Saad scarily enough would have maybe been something to talk about, but another center in Strome when Carolina has Trocheck and Staal for that 2C role (all due respect to Strome, but Aho is just a different beast) I just don't see the need. Furthermore, Carolina's cap issues are kind of indicative for any potential trade, seeing they have 5 mil with a 19 man roster.
