It all depends on the development of Peohling this year. If he makes solid progress and they have any trouble resigning Danault than they’ll have move on from him. Not what they want but harsh reality is you’re right. They can’t keep both and only reason I’d resign Tatar is if we know we’re losing Danault. I’d choose Danault over Tatar tho

his play style would be more beneficial on the left side anyway.

barley a 50 point player with a hometown discount should only be 5-5.5 but he thinks he is a 1st liner so yes he will be asking for a lot

You can’t look at just their point production. That line is the #1 5v5 line in hockey playing against the top lines from other teams every shift with hardly a lick of pp time. Look at Gallagher’s contract ya he scores 30 goals but doesn’t have more than 50 points either. That would be the best 3rd line in hockey but you can’t expect them to be that good and not get paid. IMO Danault is as valuable as Gallagher

totally understand that but as soon as danualts defensive ability slows down as all 2-way forwards do, due to new generation of players he will be just getting payed for skating.

I fully respect danualt but you look around the league at coutuier, bergeron, etc and they didn’t get raises from just there defence game.

In most cases, I would strongly advocate against Caufield joining the team this young - but he is such a deadly sniper, his highlights are really breathtaking - if the PP is in trouble we should do it.

this coming year in the NCAA as a sophomore will be fine for his development, if you take to long on players it also affects their development.
