I think given the term they keep edmundson, especially if Romanov develops to play on the #1 pairing, Chiarot would cost as a raise to re-sign.

obviously it would depend on how they play this season.

Saad is a perimeter player, and overrated IMO,
better to let Lehkonen develop on the 3rd line and try to Keep Danault.

The term is what they’d want to get rid of I think. I am almost positive the reason they signed Edmundson was to use him as their casualty to Seattle. If they’re in cap trouble year after next they can walk away from Chairot hoping that their young LHD are ready to fill in in 2 years

I honestly don't think Montreal worries about this, I'm still under the belief that they will do like a few teams did with Vegas and offer a pick or a prospect to ensure they pick someone specific.
