Cap Situation

Description
I gave Danault a slightly better Pageau contract, which is fair.

Conclusion: We are fine. Armia is 100 % gone. Chiarot/Allen will go to Seattle and one of Tatar/Byron is gone next off-season.

1- Protect Chiarot Weber Petry if we make the playoffs in 20-21
2- Edmundson or Allen to Seattle
3- Kotkaniemi need to do 50 points to earn that contract
      4- The rest is perfect

Byron is gone. I’d rather armia than Byron. Both kill penalties but armia is huge. He’s also younger. And kk wouldn’t take that, hell either get 6x6(example) or a 1 or 2 year deal

Allen isn't getting picked up by Seattle, not with Merzlikins/Korpisalo, Bishop/Khudobin, Shesteyrkin/Georgiev being available.

I'm hoping Bergevin sacrifices a pick, or a roster player or a prospect to ensure Seattle takes Byron.

Tatar is already at $5.3M, there was 500k in salary retention, he'll want north of $6-6.5 if he has a good year this year.
IMO he's basically gone to FA.

Hot take: MB resigned Allen because he plans to expose Price to Seattle. Allen is starter for a year, then Primeau takes over, and MTL has an extra 10M to beef up the roster

I've been saying that for all season long, Price has a NMC, but I have the impression he'd be willing to waive to get closer to his ranch.

Montreal offers a 1st rd pick, and Kulak so they take Price, Kulak can be flipped for a 3rd or 4th like Vegas did with Emelin (and a few other players)

      Igor yes,

but it's the minimum exposure requirements.

Currently you're correct about NY, Georgiev would not have to be exposed, the could protect him, Igor is exempt and they expose Kinkaid.

Columbus on the other hand, has no 2+ pro season goalies in the system under contract for next season, who meets the requirements, they have to expose someone to meet the minimum exposure requirements. (now, I'm not entirely clear if that means they can expose a prospect, or they have to expose a roster goalie) but logically they should just sign anybody and dump them into the minors and basically cover their ass like NY has with Kinkaid.

Korpi and Matvis are both eligible, so they could end up losing the latter. They've hoarded goalie talent over there, so they'll be fine. But I'd 100% expect them to get a veteran guy to expose.
