We have older players. It’s a win now team. We might turn into Detroit in several years but it’s fine. We are a legit team now.

Because of 1 goal Anderson? Come on. Bubble team at best. And you'll be fighting Buffalo for a wildcard spot. The top of the division is still too strong.

Toronto shouldn’t be to cocky. Plus Anderson was hurt and needed surgery. Any ways keep being a bummer

The team is a bubble team that will watch its young guys Suzuki and KK start taking steps while the over paid old guys decline and you won't be able to move them. You are going to be a worse version of the Islanders.

-who is overpaid in their core? Weber? Yeah wake me up when he shows sings of decline, because there are no one. Even when that happens his intellligence, size and height (long stick) will allow him to maintain his play through his mid/late 30s*.Petry? He's established himself as a number 2 since the 17-18 season, that's fair money for a number 2. Price? Yeah he is.
-why do you think I'm a Habs fan?? I've literally spend my entire youth (I'm a young adult now) wishing them to lose every game I've watched because their style of play under Therrien was so boring. That being said I have to admit that GMMB is doing wonders. Turning a known playoff choker for a prime C prospect. Turning the most overrated player of the 10s into a 00s/10s/early 20s legend in Weber. Getting Petry and Danault for scraps. The previous Gally deal. Adding toughness in Anderson. Adding talent in Toffoli. Adding capable depth in Edmundson, Armia (even if that move was made 2 years ago) and Allen.
-also no they're not the Isles. They have move raw offensive skills than NYI.

* I find it hilarious when people say that «Oh WeLl WeBeR iS gOiNg To GeT sLoWeR sO hE'lL bE a PyLoN» or something like that... I don't know if these people have seen him play even for 1 second over the past decade and a half because he has NEVER relied on skill/speed to be a beast. So even when he gets a bit slower he'll be able to maintain elite level because he's learned to be elite without it.

Ah yes, let's just ignore the fact that he scored 27 in 18-19...

By that same kind of logic, then Andreas Johnsson is a terrible player (which he isn't) because he scored less than in 18-19.

I've see this PBMFMOG movie a lot of time already. Don't be shocked to see him do those things. Keeps calling people anti leaf haters if they point out weaknesses in the team...

You can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which fills first. Montreal will be what they have been, a bubble team and very far from a contender. I would love to see them and TO at the top of the division but it's not happening any time soon. By the time young guys are hitting their stride, the old guys will have declined and wrecked their cap.

I call out anti leaf haters when they say crap like Matthew's sucks defensively or that Nylander is just a 60 point winger. I like Montreal and want them to be good, I am also objective and absolutely see that they lack game breakers and their cap is terrible. TO doesn't have those problems. They have the stars and just upgraded their defence and toughness. They are still really young and will only get better. Montreal has major holes coming and will have no cap to address them.

6 years is a bit long but 6.5 is good, especially for us. He’s a fan/team favourite. He also sparks our offence.

Analytically I’m pretty sure Gallagher is better than both nylander and marner. Gallagher will outperform this contract

I disagree with that, I think if Gallagher keep the same paste he was, he will be worth is contract. If he declines, he will be overpaid but he still bring so much to the team. Same goes for Anderson, if he score 25 goals and get 40-50 points, fair contract. If he doesn’t, overpaid. Both contract will never be underpaid, option 1 : fair option 2 : overpaid

Had to resign him, he means a lot to the team.

However, there was no discount in salary and term as speculated by so many on here, he signed for market value IMO. It does make most of the teams posted on here undoable, as most had him getting 4.5.

In fact, of all the UFA to bes, I thought Gallagher would be the one to give a slight discount.

I like the fact he is re-signed, but it does mean at least 2-3 of tartar, armia, danault are most definite goners, why would they take well under market when Gallagher hasn't.

No one ever thought Gallagher would get anything under 6M
No one
Tatar was never an option to be extended
Armia is Now almost gone

People compare Danault to Pageau
Pageau 6 years 5M
Danault could get 6 years 5.5M

I agree, but theres been plenty of MTL posts that thought Gallagher would take a team friendly 5mil, including one yesterday (subbanator maybe). And there were many prior to the josh Anderson deal that discussed 4.5mil

Never seen a Habs fans giving under 6M again, but I add around 30 Habs fans to my ignore list so might be some of them ( block them because they obviously don’t know what they’re doing/talking about )
