I think its too early to panic, they have a whole year to sign him or almost, or at least wait to the TDL. His very low cap hit might drive up the price at that time, but I suspect he'll re-sign in Montreal before then

These arent TDL deals, why do people also assume its a rental. Any trade, in the very unlikely event it happens, we come with a gallagher extension. Bergevin would run it by him before anything else. If winnipeg wants Gallagher, Laine is in the deal.
