With the knowledge that players get injured, this defensive core shouldn't be touched IMO - to me, guys like Lekhonen, Armia or even Byron (I would personally keep him) are more expadable as a top 9 20 pts player comes easily than a top4 D player.

We aren't over the cap with a complete roster. We can fit right under with 22 player in our lineup instead of 23. There's gonna be a lot of room created next year with the expansion draft. Also stop thinking Romanov is nhl ready.

Edmundson routinely logs 18-20 plus minutes and is a capable dman, if habs what the compete now that is something you need over a 20 year trying to find his way, i'm sure Romanov will pass him in the depth chart shortly but by no means is adding a vet dman like him a bad move. The contract is reasonable for what he brings, basically the same thing as Chairot, and now we dont need to rush any young dman and instead will have healthy competition for bottom pairing going into the season.

If Juulsen plays well and is recovered, Mete will be traded and Juulsen protected. So Chiarot will leave and Edmunstopn will stay has a top 4 D-men. Good move Bergevin.
