dubois is getting way more than 5.5

I'll leave the definitive comments to real Columbus fans, but all the team posts I've seen have DuBois and Gavrikov both getting at least $2 million more each.

Maybe in a normal year. But with the flat cap, a lot of these guys are getting less than they would have otherwise.

I don't think guys like Toffoli are comparable to guys like DuBois.

1) CBJ won't be using LTIR.
2) Please, not Hoffman. He's only good on the PP, and gets caved in at even strength.
3) Gavrikov is at a reasonably fair hit, but Dubois would either sign for only four years (walking to UFA), or we'd have to pay a LOT for longer deals, maybe up to $9M. I suspect Jarmo is trying to have the Islanders set the market with Barzal, since Dubois can't make a case that he's worth as much as Barzal based on production to this point.

Dubinsky is never playing again, so I don't see why they would waste the cap space by keeping him on the active roster. If they want to cut costs and not pay him, I'm sure they could get a team to take on the LTIR money
