i hate to break it to you, but it's bad for the game to roll this guy out who simply can't move anymore onto the ice every night.
It lowers the quality of the game.
Why ruin a game for a guy who's biggest accomplishment is going for most games played. It's not like he's OV going for the goal record or most points or whatever.
He's done, cooked, shouldn't even be at the NHL level.

You clearly have not watched him play. He has 0 speed. He looked awful for the penguins. Slow, unable to follow the play, out of it, like the CTE has caught up to him with the deer in the head lights look.

why should anyone be excited to see a guy who clearly can't play anymore break a record?
I mean at this point, SJS are saying, well we need a feel good story because the team isn't gonna be any good?

This guys an absolute clown. Marleau is still a capable bottom 6 forward on several teams. Someone will look to trade for him at the deadline just like this past year.
Most true hockey fans can recognize that is exciting to see a player break a long standing record.
