Sooo much youth. Too much it’s very risky for development to play them in primary roles. Edmonton made this mistake for over 10 years really hurt the organization.

If they could acquire an experienced guy who fits long term in Ottawa, and can fit into the top 6 that's one thing. They don't need to add guys to the bottom of the lineup to fill some "vet" quota.

Maybe they could swing something like Mikael Granlund on a 1-2 year deal with him hoping to cash in on a bigger contract at the end,but otherwise just use this year to find out what you have with young depth guys like Balcers or Chlapik before you have to potentially expose those guys to Seattle.

As far as the guys playing in prominent roles, L.Brown, Norris and Batherson are all as ready as they are ever going to be. You have to stop babying these guys at some point, and let them be the top guys or fail at it. Norris could maybe start in more of a 3rd line role, but Brown and Batherson have spent two years toying with the AHL, and both have shown flashes of it at the NHL level. It's time for them to **** or get off the pot.

What happened to Stutzle?

Hurt himself in training. Shoulder surgery needed. Sounds like he should be good for opening night, but who knows.

It sounds like he should be good to go for the World Juniors in any case, but man that's so brutal for Ottawa. There's not a whole lot to get excited about in Sens land right now, and Stutzle was a really big one.
