Kempe has a better contract and didn't have a declined year like Kerfoot. What does having Byfield have to do with moving Kempe, he's a winger for us as I indicated earlier.

Kerfoot is better suited as a winger but he worked out for us at center. Also you're going to have Byfield in our lineup, so you're essentially not losing anything in this trade.

Kings have no reason to make this trade, they drafted and groomed Kempe, they don't know Kerfoot and they are very happy with Kempe gelling with Vilardi.
