Hawks fans proceed to complain about rebuilding while at the same time complain about every move their GM makes to improve the team.

Edit: Glad you all agree with me.

A new Caggiula.

Because that's definitely what this team needs.

Define “improve”. I only speak on behalf of myself but I just wish he’d trade for more/better picks. I like what Dorian did in Ottawa.

As a Stars fan I can confirm that he isn't much of an upgrade on the guy...

Hope he proves me wrong.

I'm ok with this sign. But if I were a Hawks fan, I'd be pissed with this no sense rebuild. Malcom Subban and Delia as their goalies??? It's the worst goalies duo of the league! No-brainer. Let's not forget how many good goalies they could sign in FA and the fact that Chicago had a good playoffs performance. Even Toews clearly doesn't like what's happening in his team. Their GM not even talk to him about it. It's a shame and a disrespect with their Captain. Anyway, we'll see what's gonna happen in their locker room next season, after this mess.

I just know how Blackhawks fans react to signings.

They will complain about every move ever made by Stan Bowman until he is fired and Dale Tallon is hired back

I guess I don't really know Matties Janmark as good as I thought. An overwhelming number of people say good signing. I guess I would have preferred Caggulia for half the cap hit, but again...maybe I'm missing something here.

He's a much bigger improvement on Caggiula. Offensively it's a wash, but he's a lot better defensively and kills penalties very well.

I suppose you have a point. He's fast and can kill penalties, but offensively that guy is frustrating to watch.

Not his biggest fan I might say.

What is the point with rebuilding if you're signing a guy to a 1 year deal, who will be a UFA when it's done? Just pissing away cap space for no reason other then optics to make it look like our idiot GM is doing something. He talks about letting the young guys plays well there is plenty of those "young guys" in the AHL. Give them a shot since we aren't winning anything with the worse goalie tandem in the league. This is counterintuitive to what Bowman said after trading Saad for nothing and letting Crow walk. No Plan Stan

I mean Caggiula is concussion prone and has missed significant chunks of time the past few seasons. That plays into it. Offensively Caggiula is 28 points per 82 games and Janmark is 30.

True. I wanted Kurashev at the 3LW spot.

I really don't get this signing. Yeah, he's responsible defensively, but provides little to no offensive impact. Yeah it's a filler contract for 1 year that is very tradeable at the deadline if needed, but still, wouldn't there be better options for less money?

It's an asset Bowman can move for picks at the deadline I assume.

You would hope, but Stan Bomwan is a top 5 worst GM in the league so who knows with him.

For a guy who might, and this is best case, hit 25-30 points, $2.25M seems a bit steep compared to some of the other contracts out there. Sure it’s only 1 year and he’s better on the defensive side of things, but is that what the Hawks needed most? I also don’t know how much cap Chicago has to play with, but wouldn’t a goalie upgrade make more sense?
