Description

As Fun as it was to see Chicago in the playoffs, they are not ready to be an elite team but they have some pieces and this doesn't have to be a complete tear down.

The goalie situation this year will be difficult, but they will never find out what they have unless the young guys are given a chance.

Unless more trades are made to move money around it looks like Chicago will let Delia and Subban battle for the crease with Lankenin getting the odd start. Crow was a higher draft pick than these guys, except for Subban (thanks @exo2739), but he had his struggles out of the gate. Give the new guys some time.

Maybe we could have gotten more for Saad, but looking back to last season with Gus, at Least chicago got an nhl ready player in return.There are a few young D men that will get a long look in training camp (Mitchel, Kalynuk, Beaudin) I would like to see at least one if not two of them get a chance to play, but as of right now there are more bodies than spots available.

Unless there are more trades, The forward group will mostly be the same.

It will be step back this year but really we were not close to competing deep into the playoffs.

Overall I agree with the message. I also get it's a bit deflating to see guys that have done so much leave. Crow was his own choice though. He could have accepted $3.5M offer Stan gave him. We can get on Stan for $400k, but we could also say...WTF...not eve a $400k discount? It goes both ways.

Small thing, but Subban was technically drafted higher than Crow.

I agree LW is weak but...

I would rather give Pius a chance with some scorers rather than bury him on the 4th line.

He was the MVP of the swiss league last year, the same league Kubalik came from and he scored more goals than Kubalik did the year before.

I started him on the third line but potentially he moves up to the second line with Kane.

But yes LW is weak.
