Description
Not great return on killorn, big sweetener for Johnson, but I think league is fine letting Tampa sit. One team offers 6-7 million for cirelli or sergachev they're screwed

Offer sheets don't happen. Total myth. This, despite the hundreds of ACGMs with offer sheets every day.

Ouch! That return for Killorn...I came off my original idea that Killorn was worth a late 1st but 3rd?!?
The contract is still great, and he seems to be playing the best hockey of his career.
Should be able to get a 2nd and 3rd.
I think its because Tampa is trying to move TJ and Gourde, two guys with a full no move, that the management team, is stuck in the mud.
Julien has to stop trying to hit homers here, and accept reality. Deal players with actual value, in a new landscape.
They don't want to move Killorn but they MUST

As said above, offersheets are empty threats, they are like the 13yo in your Call of Duty game that says "I f***ed your mom." You kinda just accept they said that understand it means nothing and move on. I would ve surprised if Paquette isnt moved at the least as well. That wpuld at least give the cap for a 22 man roster

I know there's an overabundance of offer sheets on here and I agree they never happen. I can't recall a team being this hard up for cap room though, and have two highly coveted rfas. If it would ever happen this is probably the scenario.

I think there will at least be a 2nd in return for Killorn. He's attractive, but not super attractive to teams. There's sexier options at LW on the market like Hall and Duclair. Once those dominos start falling we'll be able to move him for a fair price.

I don't mind the 1st for moving Johnson. 1st round forwards only played 2:47 for us during the playoffs. Don't really need to trade for anyone either with Coleman and Goodrow back for another year too.

It's important to remember all 3 RFAs want to be here and know they will play important roles going forward. They might resist offer sheets for so long teams have to move on.

If anyone wanted to really have a good chance at getting an offer sheet signed, they'd probably have to eat the AAV bullet and offer 7 years. Otherwise, long-term they're better off staying put.

Think sergachev would take 5 years for 7 per for offer sheet? I think that's probably the magic number that bolts would have zero option to match.

Sergy is priority #1 I'd have to think. We'll be able to make him an attractive bridge deal offer at the expense of Cernak and Cirelli if needed. Who is sending the offer sheet is also a factor you cannot ignore.

I don't see him leaving for 5 years x $7m if we're offering something near 3 years x $5m.

Lets say Bruins. I also could see a team like Rangers considering cirelli at 6. Not likely but for the sake of what ifs I could somewhat see those scenarios.

Bruins wouldn't offer sheet him with McAvoy (who I base Sergy's 3yr value on) due for a full value deal in 2 years. But yes a perennial contender would stand the best chance at getting an offer sheet signed, but also the biggest difficulty in sending an attractive offer.

If we're not re-signing Cernak, the decent thing to do is to trade him.

Let it play out .. BUT TJ and Gourde contrcats are killing us .. as I warned this day would come 2 years ago .. and it here .. and will be WORSE next year .. there is HUGE risk that Gourde contract costing us JT Miller Killorn and Colemen .. unforgivable.. COVID has made problem worse .. give whatever we need to NOW to get rid of TJ and Gourde

In my opinion teams should not help Tampa out. They are desperate and the longer they wait they more desperate they will be

I never understood the gourde contract when it was signed, especially with the ntc. Johnson at least had some history backing up his.

Gourde was way more valuable than Johnson in the bubble. He definitely contributed to that Cup win and I feel like his contributions are understated, especially since some users on this site have some odd vendetta against him. Right now, I think the team genuinely doesn't want to get rid of Gourde, and if we do, it will be because we absolutely had to. But we'd do anything within reason to get rid of Johnson right now. Which sucks because I liked him as a player, but yeah, he has to go.

Gourde for sure has value, the contract just seemed high when he signed it.

I've seen fans legitimately say Gourde is better than Killorn probably because they only watched the RTP and they didn't realize Gourde is a bottom 6 player. It goes both ways
